RosWall which was launched last 2005 as an initiative of the nonprofit Roswell Arts Renaissance, has been dedicated yesterday Oct. 30 as part of National Arts & Humanities Month.
The 125-foot colorful art mosaic is situated along the retaining wall behind Roswell Cultural Arts Center, which is located at 950 Forrest Street.
This was initially launched as a project under the auspices of ArtsSWELL Children Festival of Art and has began with a grant from the city of Roswell to Jeff Mather, a Decatur-based artist and environmental sculptor.
The Cottage School and other area schools and organizations, including artists around Roswell, have helped to create and install thousands of colorful pieces for the wall for the past 10 years.
Founded in 2002, RoAR is an advocate for creating and bringing public art to Roswell. A plaque will honor this community project with special thanks to the city of Roswell, The Cottage School, and RoAR – Roswell Arts Renaissance.
